Helping a world-renowned museum rethink its internal strategies.

The Challenge

A museum reached out to us to support their new DEI tasks and supplement the advising of their Diversity & Inclusion officer, enlisting our specialization in fashion and race as well as our general understanding of the fashion system.

The Approach

Upon review of the museum’s DEI challenges, one lecture was presented to explain the work that we have done in the curatorial and fashion education space as inspiration, followed by a second lecture that laid the groundwork for structural change urgently needed within fashion museums.

The Results

Our advising work led to thoughtful considerations of new, diverse hirings within the fashion museum, which will hopefully lead to an expanded collection of objects as well as new, critical perspectives as they develop their forthcoming exhibitions.
